Friday 21-March
We flew to Udaipur early Friday morning. After relaxing for a bit at our hotel, we went out to visit the City Palace and to wander around the town. We'd arrived in Udaipur in time for Holi, a holiday that recognizes the beginning of Spring and is celebrated predominantly in North India. Friday night was the night before Holi and we went to a massive celebration at the City Palace. The event began with the royal procession, and then the Maharana and his family set the Holi tree on fire. After the ceremony, we had an amazing dinner in a courtyard of the palace.
